About us, our philosophy and our breeding program
We are a small, dedicated hobby kennel passionate about preserving and improving the magnificent Rhodesian Ridgeback breed. As true enthusiasts rather than a commercial operation, we produce only occasional, carefully planned litters, focusing on quality over quantity to ensure every puppy receives individualized attention, early socialization, and a loving start in our home environment.
Our breeding philosophy centers on responsible breeding, exceptional health testing, and strong genetics. All our breeding dogs (and sires we choose) undergo comprehensive screening to minimize hereditary risks and promote long, healthy lives for their offspring. This includes:
OFA or PennHIP evaluations for hip and elbow dysplasia
Annual CERF (or equivalent) eye examinations for clear vision and to screen for inherited eye anomalies
DNA/genetic testing through reputable labs for breed-specific conditions such as Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy (JME), Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), and 3 other relevant markers (e.g., early-onset adult deafness where applicable)
Thyroid screening and cardiac evaluations as recommended
We prioritize sound temperament, breed type, athletic structure, correct ridges, and the classic Rhodesian Ridgeback qualities: loyal, dignified, intelligent, protective yet affectionate family companions with excellent hunting heritage and natural watchdog instincts.
Our dogs live as cherished members of our family, raised in-home with love, enrichment, and proper socialization. We breed with pairings that we believe will show strong conformation, color traits and working ability—with proven, registered and titled ancestors with outstanding health clearances and pedigrees.
Puppies are raised with our "puppy culture" program, receive full veterinary care (including vaccinations, deworming and limited health guarantees), and go to approved, forever homes with a lifetime commitment to support and rehoming if ever needed.
